The significance of weapons and armour is undeniable, both in history and in fiction. This talk by Edinburgh University HEMA Society will discuss the various ways that the history has shaped (and been shaped by) the fantasy genre.
Throughout the talk we will have a variety of equipment on display, both historical and fantastical, which you the audience are encouraged to examine and handle.
There will also be ample time to ask questions to our diverse panel of historians, martial artists, re-enactors, and tabletop gamers, so please come along and pick our brains about all things sharp and shiny!
