Playing the Cold War

Cold City, Hot War and history’s impact on RPGs

Sunday 15:30 – 16:30 – Pleasance Theatre

The era known as the Cold War has always drawn gamers into its wilderness of mirrors.

With new editions of classic British Cold War-set RPGs Cold City and Hot War coming this year, historian and designer Malcolm Craig, artist Paul Bourne, and Handiwork Games head Jon Hodgson will talk about the games, the Cold War’s history, and the ways in which academic research and writing have helped to deepen and broaden both games.
