Ron Edwards

Ron Edwards is a U.S.-born role-player with a long history of play, design, and contribution to understanding this activity. He is best known for games including Sorcerer, Trollbabe, and Spione, for founding and leading The Forge (2000-2012) in advocacy of independent publishing, for an always-in-progress body of theory, and for criticizing role-playing commerce and subculture. He was the second recipient of the Diana Jones Award in 2002.

Ron immigrated to Sweden in 2017. His current work is called Adept Play, integrating play, workshops, community outreach, and the improved understanding of role-playing as process and history. He plays constantly, especially enjoying lost or poorly-known titles from the 1970s, and continues to produce new titles.
